A Living Calendar

The International Holiday Group is dedicated to recording the days people choose to remember. From widely recognized traditions to smaller, local observances, the calendar reflects how meaning is given to time across cultures and communities.

Not every holiday begins with recognition, and not every tradition is widely known. Many emerge quietly, are repeated, and over time become part of something larger. The Group works to document these observances as they are found, preserving both their origins and their continued use.

Our records are ongoing and not yet complete. New entries are added as materials are reviewed and contributions are received. What is presented here is part archive, part continuation—an effort to ensure that meaningful days are not lost simply because they were not widely recorded.
